“The procedures followed by senior officials to make decisions are in accordance with the legal and by-laws in force. In support of Law No. 90/2012 “On the organization and functioning of the state administration”, the highest civil servant in the ministry is the General Secretary, who reports and is accountable directly to the minister. The General Secretary exercises his functions in accordance with the law no. 152/2013 “On the civil servant”, law 90/2012 “On the organization and operation of the state administration” and any legislation in force as far as it is applicable. Senior officials in the ministry are also the members of the senior management body (TND), which in the case of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs are also the Directors of the General Directorates. The General Directors are mainly responsible for the smooth running of the work in the respective General Directorate, mainly in support of the work of the General Secretary. Coordinates work with subordinate structures and other units in the ministry.”
