Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Megi Fino, received today at the MEFA the ODIHR delegation led by Ambassador Urszula Gacek, which monitored elections of April 25 in Albania.

Ambassador Gacek praised the conduct of the general elections in Albania and said that the ODIHR is ready to cooperate with Albanian institutions as well as with other actors, for higher electoral standards, in fulfillment of their recommendations, presented in the final report on these elections.

Deputy Minister Fino thanked the OSCE / ODIHR for their presence in Albania, for monitoring and reporting on the general elections of 25 April 2021, with the invitation of the Albanian Government.

Fino stated at the meeting that the April 25th elections were free and fair and are considered the best in the post-transition period.

Further, Deputy Minister Fino was focused on the priorities of the recent electoral reform in our country, with the Constitutional amendments and the Electoral Code, which influenced the raising of standards and the application of new technologies to have fair, equal and transparent elections.

The ODIHR delegation is in our country under the framework of Albania-OSCE / ODIHR cooperation in fulfillment of their recommendations on the April 25 elections.
