Diplomatic consultations between Albania and Slovenia took place in Tirana on March 5th, 2018. The Albanian delegation was chaired by the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ejen Xhafaj, and the Slovenian delegation was chaired by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrej Logar.

At the meeting was highlighted the friendly and constructive spirit of relations between our two countries, as well as the will to further intensify political dialogue in the interests of both bilateral and regional cooperation.

In the bilateral framework, Deputy Minister Xhafaj underscored the readiness to welcome Slovenian investments and projects in the sectors of energy, tourism, infrastructure, etc. Both sides agreed to continue with the completion of the legal framework in these areas.

The consultations served to share views on the recent situation in the region and beyond, with an emphasis on the importance of integrating the Western Balkans into the European Union. In this context, was assessed the continued and steadfast support of Slovenia for all our countries along this route, and in particular to the process of opening negotiations for Albania.
