Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman.

This meeting revolved around the bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis being placed on the increased efforts to help foster economic cooperation, cultural and youths’ mobility, and development of the Adriatic belt.

In this aspect, both conversional partners reaffirmed their joint commitment to carry on region-related projects through the Blue Corridor and the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline projects.

In a Facebook post, Acting Minister Cakaj writes, ‘With a view to further pursuing regional cooperation, it was technically agreed on the start of trilateral meetings among Albania, Republic of Kosovo, and Croatia. As well as yielding direct benefits, such cooperation will be conducive to the Euro-Atlantic standards of the region.’

‘Finally, Croatia delivered today a strong message in support of Albania’s European aspiration by not merely providing support to the start of membership negotiations in October, but also by placing the negotiations process for Albania at the center of the Balkan Conference to be convened under the 2020 Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU,’ Cakaj ended it.
