Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Etjen Xhafaj, met today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Gjergj Dedaj.

Deputy Ministers discussed on the intensification of bilateral cooperation and fulfillment of commitments following the fourth meeting of the two governments on 27 –28 November 2018 on the concretization of the Strategic Partnership.

Albania will continue to proactively support Kosovo’s recognition and new memberships in regional initiatives and international institutions. Communication and cooperation between the two MFAs will extend and will be on a regular and continuous basis. Further extension of the joint diplomatic missions was also considered, aiming at focusing on the development of economic diplomacy, as a prior necessity for both countries, and cooperation with the diaspora.

Deputy Minister Xhafaj underlined the need to complete the work for the opening of the Kosovo Customs Office in the Port of Durres and the implementation of agreements and protocols related to the facilitation of trade exchanges and economic cooperation.
