Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Etjen Xhafaj, received today in a meeting the Secretary of State for Public Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Csaba Balogh.

The focus of this meeting was economic diplomacy, the exchange of Hungarian experience in this field and deepening of the political cooperation between the two countries as well as in the framework of waiting for the opening of the negotiations for Albania’s membership into the European Union. Interlocutors also discussed Hungarian support for Kosovo.

Deputy Minister Xhafaj enquired on how the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has organized the component of economic diplomacy given that it has incorporated this dimension as an integral and priority part of its work in order to share experience and improve our country’s efficiency in this essential field of Albanian diplomacy.

Mr. Balogh re-assured his country’s full support for the integration process of Albania and the Western Balkan countries in the European Union. He confirmed his country’s commitment to Kosovo and shared Hungary’s experience in re-dimensioning economic diplomacy as an inherent and essential part of the work of Hungarian diplomacy.
