Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, presented this Thursday in the Assembly the MFA program for foreign policy.

Minister Xhaçka said that the consolidation of Albania as a key factor for peace and stability in the region will continue, while emphasizing that the relationship with the US remains a cornerstone in Albanian foreign policy.

According to her, strengthening the consular network, reforming the recruitment process in the Foreign Service and the rethinking of the Diplomatic Academy are just some of the top priorities on the MFA agenda.

“Albania’s advancement in the integration process, strengthening of relations with our strategic partner the United States of America, consolidation of Albania’s position as an actor of special importance in the region, our mandate in the Security Council and the expansion of our diplomatic network especially in the African continent where today there is a very low number of recognitions of Kosovo’s independence, are all elements that will enable us to work even harder and do even more for our Kosovar brothers. Our compatriots around the world will also receive special attention, where the main focus of the work will be first on the implementation of the National Strategy and action plan 2021 – 2025 and secondly in compiling the Geographical and Demographic Atlas of the Diaspora and building genuine networks of organizations or associations around the world”, said the minister during her speech.
