On the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the birth of Mother Teresa, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, praised Mother Teresa in a few words for her contribution and humanity showed over the years.

Via a post on social media, Minister Xhaçka paralleled the current situation in Afghanistan, where Albania is preparing to host thousands of Afghans, emphasizing that she is proud that the values of solidarity of Mother Teresa are present among Albanians even today.

“111 years ago, a special woman was born, a woman who decided to dedicate her life to caring for people. Today, when Albania is preparing to welcome thousands of people who are fleeing as their lives are being threatened, we are proud that the solidarity and charity for which she preached and practiced throughout her life, is present among Albanians. Happy birthday Mother Teresa”, wrote the chief diplomat in her post.
