Igli Hasani, the Minister for  Europe and Foreign Affairs, attended the side meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in New York, which was focused on “The Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions.”

Minister Hasani reaffirmed the Albanian government’s ongoing commitment to fostering an environment that encourages the creation of high-caliber jobs and offers its inhabitants enough social protection.

“We are fully aware that managing transitions towards stable, inclusive and job-creating economies demands strong social consensus, coordinated by institutions through inclusive processes under clear leadership. This is what the government has deemed the right path. Albania will engage actively with its international partners, by contributing in the collective efforts for promoting quality jobs and social protection” the Minister stated.

The UN’s collective reaction to the numerous issues that threaten to reverse development progress is signaled by the establishment of the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions in September 2021 by the UN Secretary-General.
