To help promote submission of the largest number of most qualitative applications for funding for projects under the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Montenegro-Albania 2014-2020, the meeting for launching the 2nd Call for Proposals under this programme was held on 18 March 2019 in Podgorica. In this event, Albania was represented by the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Sokol Dedja.

The Cross-border Programme Montenegro-Albania overall aims at promoting/enhancing good cross-border relations and social and economic development of the border areas through improving the tourism potentials, and the environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economic development, respecting the common cultural and natural heritage. In Albania, the programme area includes the Districts of Shkodra and Lezha, as well as the Municipality of Tropoja.

The 2nd Call for applications was issued on 26 February 2019 on the following thematic priorities:

  • Protecting the environment, promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation, risk prevention and management;
  • Promoting employment, labour, mobility and social inclusion.
