The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, Ambassador Besiana Kadare, was elected Vice-President of the Joint Executive Board of the three UN Agencies: The United Nations Development Program, The Population Fund ( United Nations Population Fund) and the United Nations Office for Project Services.

The  selection in this important body that monitors the implementation of the programs and the strategic plan of these UN agencies demonstrates the country’s commitment to playing a more active role in the field of sustainable development, particularly in the context of implementing the Agenda 2030 and achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Albania’s mandate coincides with the start of implementing UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS four-year strategic plans for 2018-2021. Albania will make its contribution to the area of ​​sustainable development, democratic governance, gender equality and climate change confrontation.
