Under the auspices of the Acting Minister Gent Cakaj, the event intended to stage the Colours of Albania Photography Competition, for the fifth time now, took place in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The purpose of such initiative is to see to it that local and foreign individuals are involved in a campaign intended to promote Albania’s beauties and colours in the social networks, thus resonating of the wealth of urban life, lifestyle, and cultural heritage in Albania.

By posting their photos at #coloursofalbania2019, the social network users immediately enter this competition, thus turning into ‘digital diplomats’ to disseminate the colours of Albania across the world.

In his welcoming speech, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj underlined the length of this initiative, which has been going on for five years now, featuring multiplied interaction across the networks, and an extraordinary impact on the young people in particular.

In her speech, Minister of Culture Elva Margariti dwelt on the importance of the initiative intended to help promote Albania’s beauties and values, as well as the potential the technology offers in building capacities in order to communicate and share with others.

This event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps in Tirana, young men and women who are photography enthusiasts, representatives from the various institutions, and tourist operators.

The Colours of Albania Photography Competition will remain open till the end of September 2019, and later on, a jury will select 50 of the best photos, and announce the 5 winning photos, which will be displayed in a number of capitals around the world.
