The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Minister Xhaçka praised the two countries’ positive progress in their relations and in particular, the economic field’s intensification through concrete investments. The recent agreement regarding the visa waiver for Albanian citizens traveling to the UAE, beginning on April 19, 2023, and their support in cyber security were all highly valued by Minister Xhaçka.

Regarding multilateral cooperation, Minister Xhaçka and the Emirati counterpart focused on the contribution that both countries are making while serving on the UN Security Council as two member states that cooperate and share many similar interests and assessments for most of the crises that are on the UN Security Council’s agenda.

The chief diplomats then exchanged views on recent developments in their respective regions, highlighting the importance of the negotiation process for maintaining regional peace and security as well as global peace and security.
