The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has refuted the news published in the British media that a center for housing asylum seekers from third countries may be set up in Albania.

Minister Xhaçka emphasizes that there have never been talks about such an idea, calling it a shameful fabrication of this news by the British media.

“We are proud to house 4,000 Afghan refugees, which we have done in the eyes of the whole world, but we will never be a place where countries bigger and richer than us deport their asylum seekers. “I have instructed our diplomatic mission in UK to seek immediate refutation of this false news,” wrote the minister on Twitter.
