Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs informs that Turkey has introduced new measures for the people travelling to this country in order to control the Covid-19 cases.

Starting from 28/12/2020 all those that are travelling to Turkey by plane must have a negative test for SARS-CoV2 PCR done in the last 72 hours before their entry in the country.

As for the citizens that are travelling to Turkey by land or sea, these measures will be applied by 30/12/2020.

Those that do not have a negative PCR test will not be allowed to board the plane travelling to Turkey. So in order to travel by plane, the negative test is a must to show when boarding.

As for the travelling by land or sea, if the travellers do not have a negative test to show to the official authorities when entering in the entry points, they must self-isolate in the address that they declare (home, hotel, etc.).  In case they do not have a place to self-isolate, they must quarantine in the place allocated by the Regional Directories of Health. In the end of 7 days quarantine, they will undergo the PCR test and according to the result, the 7-day quarantine will end or their treatment will continue according to the guides by the Turkish Ministry of Health.

This rule will be in force until 1 march 2021.
