The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, along with the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Italy and the Consulates General in Milan and Bari are closely observing the emergency-related concerns arising from the Covid19 outbreak in a number of Italian provinces. Information available to us so far does not indicate any coronavirus case among the Albanian citizens.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU), information on the affected persons’ identity remains confidential. The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Italy are in constant contact with the Albanian Ministry of Health, and the Italian Ministry of Health, and the Civil Protection Department at the Council of Ministers of Italy on the joint actions intended to help stop the spread of virus onto the Albanian territory.

We are calling on the Albanian citizens in Italy, and those travelling to and from Italy, to act in compliance with the measures introduced by the Italian authorities in the emergency situation.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Albania will continue to keep the public apprised of the situation.
