The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj ended his two-day official visit in North Macedonia with a meeting with the Spokesperson of Parliament, Talat Xhaferi.

“We are immensely happy with the unprecedented rise of the representation of Albanians in state institutions and the extraordinary role in leading policies in North Macedonia.” – emphasized Cakaj in a Facebook post about the meeting.

Further, Cakaj expressed that the contribution of Albanians has been fundamental not only in the domestic reforms but also in strengthening democracy, but also in protecting the Euro-Atlantic direction of the country through fulfilling correctly the Ohrid agreement, Prespa Agreement with Greece and the Friendship Treaty with Bulgaria.

Further, Chief Diplomat Cakaj expressed the readiness of both countries to continue the close cooperation in framework of NATO and the common work towards the EU integration.

“North Macedonia will continue to support Albania in our effort to have a non-permanent seat in the Security Council 2022-2023.” – Cakaj concluded his post.
