Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

In the premises of the MEFA, Minister Ditmir Bushati signed the Host Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Albania and the Western Balkans Fund, in the presence of this Fund’s team, the Western Balkans’ Ambassadors and the Visegrad Group countries.

The Minister considers the signing of the Agreement as another key moment of the positive contribution that our country gives to the region, as well as part of our commitment and determination for the Europeanization of the region within the framework of the Berlin Process.

He thanked the Visegrad Group countries for their support in establishing this Fund and for the cooperation of all the Western Balkan countries, which contributed to transforming it into a model of regional cooperation and transformation of our societies.

“As the host country of the Western Balkans Fund but also the Regional Cooperation Office, Albania is determined that these two important regional bodies remain as influential mechanisms in building good neighbourly relations and mutual trust in the Western Balkans, as the best way to strengthen the security and stability of the whole region,” said Bushati to the attendees.

On behalf of the Fund, the Executive Director, Gjergj Murra, highlighted the successful cooperation with the Albanian Government in creating a favourable environment for the success of this regional body.
