“The visit of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security, Federica Mogherini in Tirana, on the occasion of the publication of the recommendation of the European Commission for starting Albania’s membership negotiations with the EU marks an important moment for Albania and the new chapter we are opening” – the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati said.

“The messages of this visit are clear to everyone. The recommendation for starting EU membership talks is fully deserved as the hard work we have carried forth on state building and state consolidating reforms paid off.

The recommendation is not the end of this hard work. It is merely jumping into a new and more demanding phase that requires higher speed and greater quality for the reforms to be undertaken.”
