Ministers of the Council of Ministers of the BSEC member states held an informal meeting via a video conference today, where Albania was represented by the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Agron Tare.

The Ministerial, that took place in this format due to the constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed to exchange views on appropriate measures within the BSEC, to adequately address the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in our region and to meet this challenge in a spirit of solidarity, cohesion and constructive action.

Deputy Minister Tare, after congratulating the Romanian Presidency for holding this successful meeting and all the work for the implementation of its priorities in these difficult times, he focused, among other things, on the Albania-BSEC cooperation and the measures that our country has taken to tackle the pandemic.

He noted the taking over of the Presidency of this Organization by Albania in January 2021, with the assistance of the BSEC Secretariat. In the end, Deputy Minister Tare underlined the comprehensive range of measures taken by the Albanian Government to cope with the effects of COVID-19, as well as our country’s cooperation with international partners and allies, to alleviate the burden of consequences from the pandemic crisis.
