BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEEN ALBANIA AND KAZAKHSTAN

The Republic of Kazakhstan is a unitary state with the presidential system of government. Under the Constitution, Kazakhstan is a democratic, secular, legal and social state which recognizes the man, his life, rights and freedoms as the supreme values of the country. Kazakhstan gained independence on December 16, 1991. Nur-Sultan is the capital city of the country. Kazakh language is the official language of Kazakhstan.

OVERVIEW

Diplomatic relation between Albania and Kazakhstan were established on September 21, 1993. There is a mutual political willingness to further intensify bilateral relations, in all areas of the mutual interest, especially for the development of economic and trade relations.

BILATERAL RELATIONS

On November 19-21, 2018, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ditmir Bushati paid the first official visit of a Foreign Minister to Astana, Kazakhstan, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries.

On April 29, 2022, Consultations on Consular Affairs were held between the MFAs of the Republic of Albania and Kazakhstan.

Albanians in Kazakhstan are a link between our peoples and business communities. About 300-400 Albanians live in Astana, and about 1500 from Kosovo, also from 2-4 thousand Albanians ëork every year, in the company “Mabetex” in Kazakhstan.

According to DCM no. 858, dated 29.12.2021 “On determining the criteria, procedures and documentation for entry, stay and treatment of foreigners in the Republic of Albania”, Kazakhstan is on the list of countries whose citizens enter without a visa in the Republic of Albania, for short-term stay.
