The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, participated in the International Conference “Youth, Migration and Demographic Challenges in the Western Balkans” with the invitation of the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Mass.

Via a Facebook post, Chief Diplomat Cakaj said that during the discussion with the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans emphasized the strong commitment of Albania to advance all the necessary reforms for membership in the European Union, as crucial to provide a brighter perspective to the Albanian society and the youth in particular, and the development of life in Albania in accordance with the standards of the European Union.

“More than 90% of the Albanian citizens support the European Integration process and will continue without sparing any effort to become a member of the family of the European Union’’- said the Acting Minister Cakaj in his post.

Visa liberalization for Kosovo was another issue discussed during the conference. Cakaj stressed that it is an elaborate process and according to him, the European Union should enable the free movement of citizens of the youngest Republic in Europe as soon as possible.
