Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, via a Facebook post informed that with the direct political, financial and institutional support of Albania, the National Albanian Council in Medvegje was opened for the first time.

This office, as Cakaj emphasized in his post, will play a very important role in protecting and elevating the fundamental rights of Albanians in Medvegje.

Further Cakaj said that the opening of this office has been a longstanding national obligation, but now it is an imposition of several political circumstances: the passivizing process of the addresses of Albanians, which has visibly reduced the political influence of the Albanian factor in Medvegje.

“This office, in total coordination with Albania must work hard in the opposition of the totally intentional erasing of addresses of the Albanians.”- wrote Chief Diplomat Cakaj in the post.

Also Cakaj claimed that Medvegja is an inalienable part of the Presevo Valley and the work for supporting the Albanian factor in this city will continue with full commitment.

“Very soon we will start providing literature in the Albanian language and training of the Albanian teachers in Medvegje.”- Acting Minister Cakaj informed.

He concluded his reaction by expressing that the political and institutional support for all the Albanians in the region is and will be continuous.
