On the initiative of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania has made the final decision to open the Consulate General of the Republic of Albania in Ulqin.

The announcement was made by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj.

In a Facebook post, Minister Cakaj wrote that, ‘This decision will be especially instrumental in preserving the cultural and national identity, as well as the social and political cohesion of the Albanian factor in Montenegro!’

He went on stating that work will be going on towards realising the national goal of strengthening relations among the Albanians across the region, and advancing joint political platforms.
