To conclude 2022, a very successful year for Albania and Albanian diplomacy, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, conveyed her best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year for all Albanians.

The Albanian chief diplomat emphasized that 2022 has been a year of unprecedented achievements, as she stated that we have reasons to feel proud and look forward to the coming New Year full of optimism.

“This year started by taking the mandate in the UN Security Council for the first time after 65 years. In July, accession negotiations with the EU were opened, taking the integration process to another stage. The year ended with the Summit in Tirana between the EU and the Western Balkans, the first time that this summit was held in a non-EU country, which constitutes an extraordinary assessment of our country. All these are evidence of the great transformation that Albania has undergone, becoming today a country that enjoys the respect of its partners and allies”, she said in her message.

The year 2022 was not easy. The consequences of the pandemic, even though have faded, have not disappeared yet, while the consequences of the war in Ukraine are felt not only in the life of the country, but also in every Albanian family.

Despite all these difficulties, the year that is coming to an end was another year of great successes, achieved with a lot of work and a lot of dedication.
