Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

In the framework of the 30th anniversary of the exodus of Albanians, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, via a video which reveals some of the stories of Albanians who emigrated to Italy in ’91, expressed gratitude to the Italian state which has unreservedly supported Albania’s path towards Euro-Atlantic integration processes.

“These images that shocked the whole world, are deeply engraved in the memory of all those who lived them. Much has changed since then, Albania is not what it was 30 years ago. The Albanian community in Italy today is a success story. “What remains unchanged is the feeling of gratitude for Italy and the Italian people who opened the doors in our moment of despair”, writes Minister Xhaçka on social networks.

Over the years, the Albanian community in Italy has become an essential part of the economic, social, cultural, intellectual and scientific areas of the neighboring country, building an unbreakable bridge of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
