The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani, has participated in the Ministerial Meeting for Addressing Systematic Gender-Based Discrimination Against Women and Girls in Afghanistan.

Minister Hasani condemned the gender discrimination by Afghan authorities, as he emphasized that ways should be found to not allow such acts to go unpunished.

“It is our collective responsibility to find ways for accountability. We must do everything we can to guarantee a safer future for the girls and women of Afghanistan, to provide them resources and expertise, which helps in rebuilding their life and to create a society where gender equality is not just a distant dream but a tangible reality” Minister Hasani stated.

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs is in New York, in the framework of the Albanian Presidency of the Security Council and the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly.
