The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs welcomes the YES vote of the citizens of Macedonia in support of the name agreement with Greece at the consultative Referendum yestarday.

We encourage the continuation without delay of the legislative process in Sobranie with a view to initiate the necessary constitutional changes and put in place the Agreement reached at Prespa, as the only way towards the country’s membership into NATO and EU.

It is time for all political forces in Parliament to respond to the will of the citizens and, with broad consensus, take advantage of this historic opportunity for advancing the country’s Euro-Atlantic path.
