Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The final activity of the 5th edition of the Colours of Albania Competition took place in the premises of the Palace of Brigades.

Hosted by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and under the special auspices of Minister Cakaj, this Competition became a brand, with thousands of artistic photos being published for 5 successive months, which highlighted the Albanian beauties through the lens of the ordinary public that played the role of the ‘digital diplomat.’

Representatives from the diplomatic corps accredited to Tirana, as well as diplomats, and representatives from the civil society, art, culture, and the media were in attendance.

‘The photos from this edition capture both the style and fashion, the cultural heritage and urban architecture, the ordinary people’s daily life and Albania’s extraordinary centuries-old history,’ Cakaj stated in his welcoming speech.

Among the photos, the jury headed by the world-renowned photographer Fadil Berisha, and consisting of Bevis Fusha, Rosita Habazaj, Kushtrim Ternava, and Ergys Zhabjaku, selected 5 winning photos, which were sponsored by the Credins Bank.

The activity took place to the tune of the harmonious voices of the group of artists from the Albanian territories, under the direction of Maestro Agron Peni, and the voice of singer from Kosovo Vesa Smolica, and Fifi’s music, and ended in a live festive show put on by the Offchestra Band.

Colours of Albania has evolved into a gigantic virtual exhibition of the Albanian nature, tradition, history, and soul. This annual competition indicated that Albania has not merely virgin landscape and nature, or cultural heritage or ancient monuments to offer; instead, it reveals a country that vibrates to the rhythm of modern life blending surfaces of the past.
