The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, during his visit to Bujanoc, also met with the leaders of the Albanian National Council. The discussions focused on the situation of Albanians in the Valley and the possibilities for supporting them.

Chief Diplomat Cakaj, in a Facebook post, said that they are working together to draft a joint action plan, to help some key sectors for the Preshevë Valley.

“Here I have to thank the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Ragmi Mustafa, for the unsparing work and continuous cooperation in this direction.”- said Cakaj in the post.

Furthermore, the acting Minister Cakaj stressed the importance of opening a General Consulate in the Preshevë Valley, to enable a stronger connection between Albania and the Albanians and to take additional measures to strengthen relations with the Valley’s diaspora.

During the meeting, the Head of the Albanian Diplomacy was awarded by the Albanian National Council with a Certificate of Appreciation for the support and proactive approach to the Albanians of the Preshevë Valley.

“I am infinitely grateful for the gratitude given to us by the Council for the work we have done for the Valley,” Cakaj concluded his post.
