Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

During his stay in Germany, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj met with the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman.

The main topic of discussions was the start of the EU membership talks for Albania under the Croatian Presidency.

With reference to the meeting, Cakaj announced in a Facebook post that, under its term, the Croatian Presidency intends to launch negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.

‘We agreed that Albania has fulfilled all the conditions for the EU membership talks to start, and now it’s high time for the EU to come to an agreement internally so as to kick-start the enlargement process overall!’ Cakaj ends his post.
