During his stay in Brussels, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias.

Discussions in the course of the meeting centred around the positive changes that have taken place in Albania, with particular emphasis being placed on the attainment of the goals set by the General Affairs Council in June 2018, so as to allow the start of EU accession negotiations following approval of the new methodology of accession negotiations.

Additionally, the two counterparts discussed a series of joint actions for the purpose of the restoration and reconstruction of the earthquake-stricken areas.

In a Facebook post, Cakaj expressed particular gratitude for the unstinting support Greece has been offering to Albania from the first hours in the aftermath of the earthquake to this very day, with such support being characterised by firm commitment and delivery of concrete results.
