In the course of his stay in Zagreb, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

In a Facebook post, Acting Minister Cakaj wrote that the meeting centred around the realisation and delivery of the goals set in the framework of the strategic partnership that the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Croatia have signed, and around a more dynamic approach, and greater cooperation in infrastructure interconnections, economic development, and security policies.

‘Croatia supports immediate start of membership negotiations for Albania by the EU, and will be a strong supporter both in the Council, and during its 2020 Presidency of the Council of the EU, overall!’ Cakaj stated in conclusion.
