Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

During his stay in Berlin, the Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, had a meeting with the Minister of State for European Affairs in the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Michael Roth.

The conversation was focused in the work done by Albania towards holding the First Intergovernmental Conference, including thorough discussions on the process of the electoral reform, the fight against crime and corruption, filling the vacancies in the High Court and the Constitutional Court, and also the formation of SPAK and NBI.

“There is a well-known fact: Albania has made major improvements in the five key priorities and has all the necessary capacities to continue further towards the accession in the EU.”- said Cakaj in his post.

Moreover, the need for the immediate liberalization of visas for the Republic of Kosovo was emphasized, because according to them, not only has fulfilled Kosovo the technical conditions but it has also done much more than any country in the region to be given the chance of free movement in the European family area.
