Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with Victoria Nuland, the former Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs in President Obama’s administration, and Michael Granoff, Chairman of the Board of the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF).

In this meeting, the Head of the Albanian diplomacy expressed Albania’s appreciation to the United States for the USA’s constant support, and key role to make of the Balkans an area of cooperation and development. Discussions also revolved around the USA-Albania Strategic Partnership, being one of the cornerstones of Albania’s foreign policy.

Amongst others, Cakaj highlighted AADF’s unstinting support through the YPSILON project.

‘We have carried out the YPSILON project designed to digitalise all the historical documents and archive of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Digitalisation of the MEFA’s archive collection will facilitate how the history of the Albanian diplomacy is approached, and help raise awareness in general,’ Cakaj states in a Facebook post.
