Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, was invited to attend the 68th Annual National Prayer Breakfast, held in Washington.

The activity organized by the members of the United States Congress and The Fellowship Foundation, is one of the most important annual events.

The event was attended by the highest state representatives, world religious leaders, politicians, businessmen, etc., to honor faith and friendship.

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, in his welcoming remarks, expressed his support for the launch of the International Religious Freedom Alliance, an initiative that was actively embraced by our country, and thanked all the states representatives that have joined the Alliance widely.

“The US is based on the principle that our rights do not come from the Government, but from God. America will always stand by religion”- said Trump.

In margins of the event, Minister Cakaj held a lot of meetings with his counterparts where among other things discussed the issue and actual international challenges, and Albania’s role and commitment in addressing them.

Albania stands committed in respect of the life principles of freedom, peace, dignity and prosperity – the Head of Albanian diplomacy stated in a post on twitter.

The event was also attended by Minister of State for Diaspora, Mr. Pandeli Majko, and Member of Parliament, Mr. Damian Gjiknuri.
