Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj brought the political representatives from across the Presheva Valley together in a meeting in Tirana.

Discussion among the parties centred on a number of issues of shared interest relating around deactivation of residency in the Presheva Valley, recognition of textbooks for the elementary and secondary schools and proportional inclusion in state institutions at all levels.

In a Facebook post, Minister Cakaj wrote that, Our fellow citizens in Serbia are a precious social and national asset. We will continue to voice their shared concerns, and will work tirelessly to promote protection of their rights.’

In the end, Cakaj was appreciative of the representatives’ willingness to set aside internal differences for the sake of major national goals.
