In the course of the 40^th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj had a meeting with the Minister for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia Edmond Ademi, who is also President of the National Commission for UNESCO.

This meeting revolved around a number of bilateral issues, including strengthening of relations with the diaspora and cooperation in the framework of European integration.

Additionally, both Ministers underlined the need to coordinate efforts in furtherance of the joint Lake Ohrid region project, with this Lake already featuring in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
