Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, welcomed today the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Corruption, Paola Severino.

Minister Bushati valued the cooperation between Albania and the Italian Presidency in all dimensions of the organization’s activity.

Minister Bushati informed the Special Representative of the OSCE, Severino, that the fight against corruption is among the priorities of the Albanian government, and on this occasion, he briefed Mrs. Severino on Albania’s achievements in the fight corruption, as well as on the challenges that Albania faces.

Both sides emphasized the role of reforms in the country and the need to deepen them in order to raise an attitude of zero tolerance against non-punishment.

The organization’s contribution to strengthening peace and security in our region through the promotion of cooperation for a sustainable and comprehensive development was also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Cutilio, whose country holds the OSCE Chairmanship, Ambassador Borchardt, Head of OSCE Presence in Albania, etc.
