Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati held a meeting with Justice and Security Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus. The ministers discussed cooperation between the two countries, Albania’s European perspective, cooperation in dealing with security challenges and the rule of law, as well as the fight against organized crime.

Minister Bushati informed the Dutch high official about the concrete steps taken by the Albanian government in the field of reforms and in meeting the key priorities for opening accession negotiations. He focused particularly on the justice reform, which, as he voiced, has already started to deliver the first results and is also a frontrunner for the countries of the region.

Minister Grapperhaus said that the Netherlands is open to cooperating with Albania and recognizes the full worth of the work recently done, mainly in the area of ​​rule of law and its implementation.

The ministers also discussed the situation in the region. Minister Bushati underlined that Albania is a factor of stability and security.

Minister Bushati and Minister Grapperhaus attended the conference organized by the Ministry of Justice and Security on international cooperation and the rule of law capacity building to create a better and secure future for our citizens.
