During his visit to Montenegro, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj held a meeting with Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with European Union, Aleksandar Drljevic.

The Albanian Chief Diplomat discussed on bilateral or regional integration projects as the best way to accelerate the common European perspective.

Acting Minister Cakaj emphasized the need to exchange experiences, cross-sectoral cooperation at level of experts, joint lobbying and the implementation of projects that precedes the integration processes.

Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, also held a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Genc Nimanbegu.

In the framework of a pro-active parliamentary diplomacy, the meeting underlined the role and contribution of the respective Parliamentary Friendship Groups as an added value on the friendly relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties shared the same considerations for the parliamentary diplomacy, which plays an important role in the framework of the regional integration processes, but also within NATO and EU integration. They stressed that their role remains important in the context of regional development strategies.
