Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

INFORMATION ON THE MOVEMENT CRITERIA OF ALBANIAN CITIZENS IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, based on the situation created by the restrictions on the movement of travelers abroad due to Covid-19, in order to prevent problematic situations, informs in real time about any change in this regime related to the movement of Albanian citizens.

The European Commission has approved the digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate for Albania. (Click here)

This certificate is equivalent to the digital certificate of the European Union, linked to the EU system and recognized with the same conditions and validity.

At the same time, Albania has agreed to recognize EU digital certificates for travel from any EU country to Albania. After complete vaccination, Albanian citizens can move freely to EU countries.

The Council of the European Union has recommended certain criteria and rules for third countries, referring to movement in EU countries. Specifically, the Council recommends that EU member states should allow non-essential travel to third countries, including Albania. Starting from 1 March 2022, the following will be allowed to travel to EU countries:

– Persons vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the EU or WHO, provided that at least 14 days have passed since receiving the last dose and no more than 270 days before arrival in an EU country;

-Persons recovered from COVID-19;

-For some of these travelers, additional measures such as PCR testing before travel may apply.

– For children under 6 years of age, the Council recommends that no additional measures be required or implemented.
