Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, welcomed today in Tirana the members of the Political and Security Committee (PSC) of the European Union.

Minister Bushati informed and responded to various questions and comments of EU member states’ representatives on the main aspects of Albania’s foreign policy. He spoke also about Albania’s cooperation and contribution to civil and military operations of the European Union and NATO, as well as Albania’s relations with the countries in the region, regional security issues and other issues.

Minister Bushati highly praised the support of EU member countries for the democratic and transformation processes in our country aimed at assisting us during our European integration process. In addition, he highlighted the transformational impact of the enlargement policy in the Balkan countries.

He also underscored the importance of reforms in the field of justice and strengthening of the rule of law in Albania as well as its direct impact on the security of the country.

Representatives of member countries praised, among other things, the progress of the reforms and Albania’s contribution to strengthening regional cooperation. They underlined the importance of strengthening the European perspective of the Balkan region and stressed the need for an quick resolution of all bilateral disputes as an important contribution to the acceleration of the European integration process of the whole region.
