Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the EU Delegation to Albania held the Conference “Together towards European Union: Acknowledging past experience and creating partnerships for the future”. The conference was composed of two panels: “Acknowledging past experience” and “Creating partnerships for the future”.

In his speech, Minister Bushati underlined that the European project for Albania is essentially a unity project within itself. According to him, the European project is the one that the overwhelming majority of Albanians consider the project of peace, security and welfare, but above all, the project of democratic governance.

The head of Albanian diplomacy stressed that the European project coincides not only with the modernization and transformation of our society but also with the consolidation of our European identity as a nation.

Former Ministers of State for Integration and former ministers for European integration such as Sokol Nako, Paskal Milo, Ermelinda Meksi, Majlinda Bregu and Klajda Gjosha were invited in this roundtable to discuss their experience on the path towards European Integration and shared the conviction that this process is important for all Albanians beyond any political affiliation.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs started today discussions with civil society representatives of the Partnership Platform for EU membership. This is the first step in a series of numerous activities that will be undertaken to guarantee the inherent participation of all stakeholders in this process.

The MEPJ aims to guarantee the continuity, inclusiveness and accountability of this platform beyond the government – opposition relation.
