Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati held a meeting with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. Discussions focused on important issues such as bilateral cooperation, developments in the field of security in the Middle East and in the Balkan region, the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, economic development and cyber defence.

Minister Bushati briefed Prime Minister Netanyahu with the developments in the region and the role of Albania as a stability factor. On his part, Prime Minister Netanyahu praised Albania’s approach to security challenges in the region and beyond, and expressed Israel’s interest in further strengthening of co-operation in this area.

Minister Bushati and Prime Minister Netanyahu also discussed the possibility for cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as innovation, economy, education, culture, etc.

During his visit to Israel, Minister Bushati will have several bilateral meetings, including meetings with the Minister of Defence Avigdor Lieberman, Minister for Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi, the opposition leader Tzipi Livni, Head of the American-Jewish Committee (AJC) David Harris and Head of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) Robert Singer.
