Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

In the framework of the United Nations General Assembly annual meetings, minister Ditmir Bushati met with a group of teachers, students and parents living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Minister Bushati thanked the Diaspora teachers, who continue working to keep the Albanian language alive with an exemplary will and love for their motherland, despite their difficult circumstances at times. To assist these teachers and the Albanian community, not only in America, but also in Europe and Australia, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has distributed 3800 textbooks in Albanian language, ahead of the new school year. On this occasion, Qemal Zyla, who has run three Albanian schools for 10 years, thanked the Albanian government for the great help in solving a critical problem as the lack of Albanian texts.

Minister Bushati assured the participants that the Albanian government will continue supporting them, as it is an obligation to assist all those compatriots working to preserve the Albanian language and identity. In this regard, we are working on the digitization of textbooks so that they can be immediately distributed and accessed in every corner of the world.
