Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj attended the activity held to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the foundation of the Council of Europe.

In a Facebook post, Minister Cakaj states that as well as embracing the values of the Council of Europe, Albania contributes in an important way to them.

‘Under its OSCE Chairmanship in 2020 in particular, Albania will work closely with the Council of Europe for the protection of the human rights and the promotion of the fundamental freedoms,’ Cakaj writes.

Additionally, Minister Cakaj placed particular emphasis on the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in this Organisation, which, according to him, is important both for the protection of its citizens’ rights, and an added value to the Council of Europe itself.​
