Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj posted in his Facebook profile that today, at the Permanent Council, following the untiring efforts of preparatory work and the excellent cooperation under the Troika, Slovakia officially handed over the OSCE Chairmanship to Albania.

Such moment, according to Head of Albanian diplomacy Cakaj, marks the greatest success in the history of Albania’s multilateral diplomacy, following its membership in NATO.

For one whole year, Albania will be chairing the world’s largest organisation for security, with its area of activities encompassing a space stretching from Vancouver to Vladivostok.

‘Albania has all the required capacities in order to effectively address its Chairmanship’s priorities, and responsibly fulfill its obligations towards the participating countries,’ Cakaj closed his post.
