Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj received a courtesy meeting by the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America to Albania Mrs. Yuri Kim.

The Head of Albanian diplomacy Cakaj stated in a Facebook post that, in the course of the meeting with Ambassador Kim, they discussed a large number of issues germane to Albania’s commitment to seeing the start of the EU accession negotiations, its OSCE Chairmanship, and Albania’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2022.

‘We are thankful for the unstinting support from the United States of America for the domestic reforms, and the strengthening of Albania’s position internationally. The USA is an irreplaceable strategic and political partner for Albania!’ Cakaj ends his post.
