SH.T.Z. Igli Hasani holds the post of Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs from September 2023.

Earlier, during the period 2021-2023, Mr. Hasani held the position of Coordinator of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for Economic-Environmental Activities.

Before joining the OSCE, Mr. Hasani was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to International Organizations in Vienna (2018 – 2021).

In 2019, he led the Mediterranean Contact Group, as part of the OSCE Troika.

During the chairmanship of the Albanian Presidency of the OSCE in 2020, Hasani was the Chairman of the Permanent Council of the organization, while in 2021 he held the position of Chairman of the Cooperation Group of Asian Partners.

He has 17 years of work experience (2001 – 2018) in the Ministry of Defense, in several senior management positions.

Mr. Hasani studied at the University of Tirana, at the Faculty of Social Sciences for Philosophy-Sociology, the Faculty of Law, as well as Master’s studies in International Relations, at King’s College, London.

At the same time, he has completed a series of high professional qualifications at the Royal College of Defense Studies in the United Kingdom, the Marshall Center in Germany, etc.
